About Euphyllia glabrescens
Torches are the royalty of LPS corals. Known for their dramatic, flowing tentacles and brilliant coloration, these corals bring both motion and intensity to reef tanks. While the Tiger Torch flaunts tiger-striped tentacles with neon tips, the Cotton Candy variant shines with a soft pastel palette that’s rare and highly prized in the hobby.

💡 Lighting Requirements
Moderate to high lighting is ideal. Both varieties will glow under blues and benefit from slow acclimation to stronger light.
Low Light: 60–80 PAR
Medium Light: 80–150 PAR
High Light: 150–200 PAR (only with proper acclimation)
🌊 Water Flow
Moderate, indirect flow. Torch tentacles should sway gently—too much flow may cause retraction or tissue damage.
🍽️ Feeding
While they’re photosynthetic, these torches love occasional meaty treats. Target-feed small amounts of mysis, brine, or reef-specific blends 1–2 times a week for maximum growth and color pop.
🌱 Propagation
Euphyllia torches grow via branching skeletal heads. Frag with care using coral cutters and allow healing in a low-flow, iodine-treated dip if needed.
🔄 Acclimation
Essential for high-end LPS. Use a slow drip acclimation (45–60 minutes) and avoid sudden shifts in lighting or flow. Let them expand before adjusting placement.
⚠️ Space Required: Torch corals have long sweeper tentacles that can extend up to 6 inches or more. Keep a safe buffer zone between them and other corals to prevent stinging.
